Speaking, training or services?

Training is about your team getting better at it.

Speaking

Keynotes, panels and podcasts for conferences, local authority events and networks. One talk, many settings in the room.

Training & mentoring

For one owner, one team or one group. You learn and practise inside your own business, on your own numbers, over a day or over months.

Services

When you want me to do the work: fixed-fee reviews, projects and senior support, with a written outcome.

Ways to work together

Four options, from one half day to ongoing support.

Every option uses your own setting, rota and figures rather than generic examples. Pricing depends on the option, the number of people and settings, and location, so I’ll come back to you with clear options and pricing once I know what you need.

Owner Mentoring

A regular, private thinking partner for the owner. Each month we look at your numbers together, work through the decisions in front of you and agree what happens next, so you get better at running the business yourself, not more reliant on someone else.

For: single-site and small-group owners, and owners stepping back from day-to-day management.

  • A monthly 1:1 session built around your agenda
  • A short numbers review before each session: occupancy, staff cost, cash and fees
  • Help with live decisions: a new room, a pay review, a fee change, a manager hire
  • A written action list after each session, followed up next time
  • Quick questions by email between sessions

You come away witha steadier monthly rhythm, clearer decisions and someone who has grown a nursery business from one setting to four in your corner.

Short programme · managersA few sessions · online or on site

Manager Commercial Clinic

A short programme for nursery managers, deputies and room leaders who run the rota, the register and parent conversations day to day. Small, practical sessions that build the commercial skills most management training skips.

For: managers, deputies, room leaders and newly promoted managers.

  • Ratio and rota maths: matching staff hours to the register, room by room
  • Reading the occupancy grid by session, and spotting the gaps worth filling
  • Planning cover for holiday and absence before it bites
  • Handling funded hours, extras and fee questions with parents, confidently and within the rules
  • The handful of weekly figures a manager should own

You come away with managers who can explain the numbers behind their rota, plus a weekly manager check-in sheet they keep using.

Hands-on · whole teamHalf or full day · on site

In-Setting Workshop Day

A working day (or half day) in your setting with your owner, manager and senior team. Less presenting, more doing: we bring templates and exercises and use your real rota, room plans and fee list on the table.

For: a setting or group that wants the whole leadership team pulling in the same direction.

  • Choose two or three modules: rota and ratios, occupancy and waiting list, cover planning, enquiry to start, fees and extras
  • Exercises worked through on your own documents, not case studies
  • Agreed owners and dates for each action before we finish
  • A short written summary afterwards

You come away withfilled-in templates, a 90-day action plan and a team that has worked through it together.

Half day · ownerHalf day · online or in person

Owner Numbers Session

A half-day working session where we build your monthly numbers pack together, so you can read your own business every month without waiting for the accountant. This is a training session for you, not a review I write up for you.

For: owners who want to understand and run their own figures.

  • Set up a one-page monthly dashboard from your own data
  • Staff cost, occupancy by room and cash, side by side
  • What to look at each month, and what each figure is telling you
  • Practise reading it together on the last three months

Want me to review the business and tell you what I find? That is the Business Health Check or a Single-Issue Review.

You come away witha working monthly numbers pack in your own files and the confidence to use it.

Not sure where to start?

Start from the problem you have now.

Tell me what is happening and I’ll suggest the lightest option that fits. If training is not the right answer, I’ll say so.

  • “I’m making every decision on my own.”Owner Mentoring.
  • “My manager runs the rota but not the numbers.”Manager Commercial Clinic.
  • “The team needs to pull in one direction.”In-Setting Workshop Day.
  • “I don’t really know what my figures are telling me.”Owner Numbers Session.
  • “I want someone to look at the business and tell me.”The Business Health Check on the services side.
